365 Day Project - Week 21

This week was fairly low-key, thank goodness!  We took a little trip to the Port in Vitoria to see the war ships when the sun finally came out.  We were also able to get back to the beach this weekend for a quick swim.  Here are a few photos...plus some extras!... from this week.  P.S. Congratulations to my brother Michael and his girlfriend Stephanie on the purchase of their first house! I can't wait to see it :)

365 Day Project - Weeks 19 and 20

To begin, I apologize for my lack of posting and for trying to sneak two weeks of posts into one, but I promise to make it up to you!  These last two weeks have been rough ones with many unexpected things going on as well as my continued illness.  Fortunately, I am feeling a-ok again and things have calmed down so fingers crossed for a good week coming up.  Here are just a few photos from the last two weeks.  I didn't realize until after I uploaded the pictures that most of them are food related, but that's how things go around here sometimes.  Enjoy!

Homemade pizza dough....
I love packages from Canada......especially when there is red liquorice involved.
A truck full of coconuts...
I loved the afternoon light in our house after days and days of rain.

I splurged and bought some Sicilian lemons this week which are wickedly expensive here....but they made a delicious cake!
My first driving lesson in a manual car courtesy of W......and we both survived!
Eating warming comfort food this week between my illness and the weather...

365 Day Project - Week 18

This week was a short week, but quite an eventful one.  We had a lovely two day holiday from school.  Unfortunately, Thursday found me stuck in my bed with mysterious stomach pains. Poor W. spent five hours in the hospital with me to find out I have an infection.  Needless to say we are getting to know our way around that place since it was our second trip in 8 months.  However, I'm on the mend now and I was able to enjoy the rest of the weekend.  Here are a few shots from this week.  Enjoy!

365 Day Project - Week 17

This week was a really busy one, but luckily we were able to get away and take another little road trip to Belo Horizonte.  It's W's birthday next week and he was happy to see all his family.  L. and I were able to sneak into the city to have breakfast at a wonderful European-style cafe complete with buttery croissants, which made me remember how much I love European-style cafes!  Aside from a little traffic, it was a great end to a crazy week.  Enjoy!
